An awareness session on organ health and tissue donation was conducted on 26th July 2025 at Calve College Government Higher Secondary School, Puducherry This was organized by MOHAN Foundation. The session was led by Ms. Sangeetha K, who addressed students from classes 8 to 10 and the associated teaching staff. She explained the functions of different organs, causes and symptoms of illnesses, and emphasized the importance of maintaining good health through preventive care and a balanced lifestyle. Ms. Sangeetha also discussed the concepts of organ donation and brain death, including how organ donation works, how recipients receive organs, and highlighted the importance of being aware of potential scams.
In the second part of the session, she focused on corneal blindness and the need for cornea donation. She shared valuable tips on eye care, simple exercises to improve vision, ways to prevent eye strain from screens, and stressed the role of a diet rich in Vitamin A for maintaining healthy eyesight.
A total of 60 students from grades 8 to 10 and 6 teaching staff participated in the program. MOHAN Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to Calve College Higher Secondary School for the opportunity to conduct this impactful session.
