Policy Statement
MOHAN Foundation is committed to promoting inclusion, accessibility, and non-discrimination in all its online learning programmes.
This policy outlines our approach to ensuring equal opportunities for learners, trainers, staff, and third parties with disabilities who engage with our eLearning platform.
- We affirm our compliance with:
- The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act, India)
- Guidelines issued by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)
- Other relevant Government of India directives and accessibility standards
Our goal is to ensure that all individuals can participate fully in our training and learning programmes without barriers caused by disability or discrimination.
- Objectives
Through this policy, MOHAN Foundation commits to:
- Providing a safe, inclusive, and accessible learning environment for all.
- Preventing discrimination based on disability in access, participation, evaluation, or certification.
- Ensuring compliance with Indian legislation, especially the RPwD Act, 2016, which prohibits discrimination against persons with disabilities.
- Creating awareness and sensitizing trainers, staff, and learners about disability rights and inclusion.
- Regularly reviewing and updating accessibility practices to align with evolving legal and technological standards.
- Scope
This policy applies to:
- All employees of MOHAN Foundation and learners enrolled on the training programs (online / offline) of MOHAN Foundation
- All trainers, guest faculty, and support staff engaged in delivering or managing online training
- All third parties who have professional interaction with MOHAN FoundationТs eLearning platform
- Responsibilities
- Management: Ensure that this policy is implemented, reviewed annually, and communicated to all stakeholders.
- Trainers/Staff: Create inclusive content, adapt teaching methods where needed, and avoid any form of discriminatory practices.
- Learners: Respect the rights of peers, contribute to an inclusive learning environment, and report any discrimination observed.
- Technical Team: Maintain accessibility standards of the eLearning platform (screen reader compatibility, captioning, easy navigation, alternative text for images, etc.).
- Arrangements for Compliance
To ensure compliance with Indian disability rights legislation:
- Conduct digital accessibility audits of learning platforms periodically.
- Incorporate reasonable accommodations (e.g., captions, transcripts, alternate formats, extended time for assessments).
- Ensure content aligns with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), wherever possible.
- Provide a dedicated contact point (email/helpdesk) for learners with disabilities to request support or report concerns.
- Include a section on disability rights and inclusivity in learner orientation and trainer induction programmes.
- Sensitize all staff and trainers on non-discrimination principles under the RPwD Act.
- Review and Monitoring
- This policy will be reviewed annually by the MOHAN Foundation eLearning Committee.
- Any changes or updates will be communicated promptly to all staff, trainers, and learners.
- Accessibility and non-discrimination practices will be evaluated periodically against performance indicators.
- Promotion of Policy
MOHAN Foundation will:
- Publish this policy on mohanfoundation.org and el.mohanfoundation.org
- Share it during staff and trainer induction programmes.
- Communicate updates via email/newsletters.
- Display the policy in relevant internal communication platforms.
