Superspecialty Hospital invites MOHAN Foundation to educate patients about Organ Donation

  • On 28th June 2016, Superspecialty Hospital, Nagpur, invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about organ donation to the outpatients. Dr. A. Dani arranged the stall where MOHAN Foundation displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner.   Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde, Transplant Coordinators managed the stall.

     

    Information given to outpatients was-

    Types of deaths

    Difference between coma and brain death.

    Value of donor card

    Organ and tissues donation post Brain Death

    Tissue donation post Natural Death.

    Tissue and organ donation by a living person.

    Patient waitlist and priority norms.

    MOHAN Foundation activities and information sources like the helpline number and website.

     

    25 patients visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 3 people signed the pledge form. Most of them wanted to discuss with their family, so they did not pick a donor card. Transplant coordinator also requested them to visit MOHAN Foundation website and use the helpline number to find out more about the cause.

    Whom to contact whole body donation?
