Students of Government College of Nursing, Secunderabad learn about Organ Donation

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Government College of Nursing, Secunderabad, for a public education programme on organ donation and transplantation on August 16th, 2019 for nursing students and faculty.

    Every human being is responsible for the wellbeing of the other in one way or the other. So, session began with Mr. Sachin Sunny talking about moral values in life for half an hour. Dr. Bhanu Prakash then spoke about the importance of organ donation and transplantation. Questions, discussions and clarifications were part of the interactive session. MOHAN Foundation and its activities, Jeevandan and organ donation and transplantation concepts were covered in detail.

    The audience was very interactive and eager to know about this aspect and its procedure in detail. Many doubts and misconceptions that they had about this subject were clarified by Dr. Bhanu Prakash. Around 60 participants were present at the programme and all of them pledged their organs and received donor cards.

    The session had a good reach among the nursing students, who in the near future are going to be an integral part of the medical field. They were also greatly enthusiastic to promote about organ donation and they assured that they would make their family, friends and others aware of it.  The coordinators also expressed interest in conducting an Angels of Change volunteer training in the coming months.
