Stall set up at an Organ Donation CME Conference in Nagpur

  • On 16th September 2019, the Deputy Director Health Services (DDHS), Mata Kacheri in Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to put up a stall on organ donation at a CME Conference that was organised by the Alexis Hospital. The stall was set up right outside the conference hall. It was decked up and equipped with banner, donor card, brochures, newsletters and other materials, managed by Mr. Bulu Behera and Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi Transplant Coordinators from MOHAN Foundation and Ms. Priti from Alexis Hospital.

    Information given to the hospital staff:

    • Types of death
    • Organs and tissues that can be donated after brain death, after natural death and while living
    • Where is waitlist for organ failure patients available and how to register in it?
    • Who can donate organs and the value of donor card?
    • Activities of MOHAN Foundation
    • Helpline number and MOHAN Foundation’s website

    Around 150 visitors visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, many took consent forms and 25 of them signed consent forms and received the donor cards.

    • How many people have so far signed consent forms and received donor cards?
    • What is the role of MOHAN Foundation in organ donation?
    • Where is MOHAN Foundation’s office located?
