On September 26, 2023, SOTTO Haryana and MOHAN Foundation were invited by Siddhi Vinayak Jan Sansthan at Dhamar village of district Rohtak to deliver an awareness talk on organ donation during their 3rd free medical health checkup camp. Participants were given basic information on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Deepti Kumari, transplant coordinator SOTTO, Haryana.
In the talk, she explained the following points:
• Organ donation types and who can be a donor
• The status of organ donation in India and its requirements vs. donation rates
• Age is not a constraint on organ donation.
The entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation in other camps also.
In the end, Ms. Neha Sharma, member of Siddhi Vinayak Jan Sansthan and Mr. Rajender Kaushik, organizer of the camp thanked SOTTO Haryana team and MOHAN Foundation for their comprehensive talk.
Around 35 participants of this village attended the program and 2 people pledged for organ donation.
