Awareness stall on organ donation at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh OPD Complex of PGIMS, Rohtak on World Heart Day 2023

  • On September 29, 2023, Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, in collaboration with the Rotary Club, commemorated “World Heart Day 2023" with zeal and purpose, to raise awareness about heart health and to honour the cured heart patients.

     

    SOTTO Haryana, along with the MOHAN Foundation, took part in the event by setting up an awareness stall on organ donation at the Chaudhary Ranbir Singh OPD Complex of PGIMS, Rohtak.

     

    The event featured a range of engaging activities, including inspiring patient testimonials, poster competitions, an organ donation awareness desk, and engaging street plays.

     

    Dr. Anita Saxena, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the university, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In her address to the students, Dr. Saxena emphasized the pivotal role the heart plays in our overall health and well-being. She urged everyone to prioritize heart health by engaging in basic activities like yoga and walking, highlighting that a strong heart contributes to a long and meaningful life.

     

    Dr. Saxena expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Shamsher Singh Lohchab, Director of Pt. B. D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak, for organizing this amazing and powerful awareness programme, as well as the organ donation awareness stall.

     

    Dr. Smasher Singh Lohchab emphasized that organ donation was another hope to life after death.

     

    Notably, the highlight of the day was the spirited awareness rally. Students from the MBBS, nursing, dental, and pharmacy college in collaboration with Rotary Club, Rohtak, SOTTO Haryana, and MOHAN Foundation, participated in the rally marching from the OPD Block to the D-Park.

     

    Close to 50 people visited the awareness stall.
