  On 15th January 2022, organ donation awareness program was conducted at Dhantoli Park, Nagpur. Mr. Rahul Bhujade, Supervisor of Safai Karmachari of Laxmi Nagar, NMC Office invited Mr.Bulu Behera to give a talk on organ donation.

  Mr. Bulu introduced MOHAN Foundation and its activities.

  He then touched upon the below topics on organ donation.

  1. Concept of organ donation and who can donate?
  2. Types of Death - brain death and natural death
  3. Difference between coma and brain death?
  4. Procedure for eye and whole body donation?
  5. Importance of donor card
  6. THO Act- 1994 was explained.
  7. Explained about governmental bodies –ZTCC, NOTTO, ROTTO-SOTTO and their role in organ donation.

  Questions asked by the participants were as follows:

  1. What is the age limit for eye donation?
  2. What is the process of body donation?
  3. How can eyes be donated?

   

  28 participants participated in the session. 6 members pledged their organs. We thank staff members of Safai Karmachari for providing us an opportunity to create awareness on organ donation among their staff members.
