Sensitization workshop on organ donation conducted for Social Work students of Matru Sewa Sangh Institue, Nagpur.

  • On 18th January 2022, a virtual organ donation session was conducted for Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of social work students. Mrs. Neeta Jagtap, lecturer of Matru Sewa Sangh Institue, Nagpur, invited Mr.Bulu Behera to conduct a workshop on organ donation.

    Mr. Bulu presented his presentation by explaining MOHAN Foundation and its activities. He gave information about ZTCC, NOTTO and ROTTO-SOTTO.

    He then discussed the below topics on organ donation

    1. Organ donation and its types
    2. Concept of brain death and natural death
    3. Types of death- Brain death and Circulatory death
    4. Procedure of eye and whole body donation
    5. THO Act-1994 was discussed
    6. Donor card and its importance.

     

    Questions asked by the participants were as follows:

    1.  Process of whole body donation?
    2. What is the difference between coma and brain death?

     

    13 participants participated in the event. The session was informative and motivated all the participants to pledge their organs.

    We thank Matru Sewa Sangh Institute, Nagpur for providing us an opportunity to create awareness among the students.
