  • On World Organ Donation Day, Aug 13, 2025, the Madras South Probus Club invited the MOHAN Foundation to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation. This club's primary function is to educate its members about health and safety, and its members are elderly citizens.

The virtual meeting was arranged by President C Badri, Vice President Mrs. Vanaja Krishnamurthy, and Secretary/Treasurer Mr. A G Pranesan. The talk's resource was  MOHAN Foundation’s Quality Assurance Officer Dr. Hemal Kanvinde.

Dr. Hemal discussed the importance of organ donation as well as the when, how, and what of it. She showed an instructional film and described the concept of brain death. She discussed voluntary body donation and tissue donation. She emphasized that in order to promise and consent for organ donation, we must have big hearts. She then explained  the pledge procedure.

Discussions about organ distribution, brain death as death, the post-brain death process, and eye donation followed the talk.

The Probus Club of Madras South office bearers' efforts are much appreciated by MOHAN Foundation.
