On Aug 14, 2025, students of Standard 12th of Alpha School, Saidapet Chennai were given an orientation to the concepts of eye and organ donation. About 120 students and a few staff members attended the session conducted by MOHAN Foundation. Green ribbons and information brochures were distributed.
The talk's resource was MOHAN Foundation’s Quality Assurance Officer Dr. Hemal Kanvinde. The session started with motivational short video followed by a talk on Eye donation. Then Dr Hemal spoke on the Concepts of Organ Donation, brain death, myths in society and narrated a start of a young hand transplant recipient. She then ended the talk with a short film of recipients.
Students were very active and participated in a short quiz. After the talk, the students discussed the causes of organ failure, the actual transplant surgery, care after transplant and the hand transplant story.
MOHAN Foundation appreciates the efforts of the Principal and staff for this awareness activity.
