Organ Donation Stall at Kasabpura, Nagpur

  • Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation put up a stall on 30th June 2021 in the Kasabpura locality in Nagpur at the request of Mr. Fazul Rahman Qureshi, the Youth Wing President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) in his office premises.

    Mr. Behera also delivered a brief talk, addressing more than 100 residents, during which he spoke about the following:

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of organ donation in India – donation rates and organ requirement
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Age not being a constraint in organ donation
    • Myths and facts related to organ donation
    • Role of ZTCC in organ donation
    • Organ donor stories
    • Importance of donor cards
    • Registering in MOHAN Foundation’s website to pledge organs after death
    • MOHAN Foundation’s Mission and Vision

    Around 40 residents visited the stall and 20 people signed up as organ donors.
