Organ Donation Information Desk at NoMoZo 7.0, Porvorim, Goa

  • On January 11, 2026, the MOHAN Foundation hosted an organ donation information desk at NoMoZo 7.0 in Porvorim, Goa. NoMoZo 7.0 (No Motor Zone) is a vibrant community event initiated and organised by Porvorim Rising, with Mr Rohan Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, IT, and Printing & Stationery and MLA of the Porvorim constituency, as one of its key figures. The event was held with the motto “Happy Feet on a Motor-Free Street” and featured dance, music, games, food, and joyful interactions for people of all ages.

     The Chief Guest for NoMoZo 7.0 was renowned Indian actor Mr Manoj Bajpayee, who appreciated the initiative and described it as an excellent platform for showcasing talent while encouraging environmental awareness and community growth.

     The MOHAN Foundation’s information stall was operational from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and played a significant role in spreading awareness about organ donation. Mr Gabriel, who manned the stall, distributed approximately 300 informational flyers and engaged with visitors to explain the importance and process of organ donation. As a result of these efforts, 10 individuals pledged to donate their organs, and one person collected the declaration and will form for whole body donation. Mr Gabriel informed the individual that he would assist in submitting the completed forms to Goa Medical College, Bambolim.

     During the event, Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Hon’ble Member of Rajya Sabha, along with Shri Rohan Khaunte, visited the organ donation information desk and interacted with the team.
