On Sunday, June 4th, 2023, the MOHAN Foundation put up an information desk on organ donation at a blood donation camp held at Our Lady of Penha De Franca Open Air Hall in Porvorim, Goa. The camp was organised by Porvorim Welfare Foundation (an initiative by Mr. Vikas Prabhu Desai, a social worker) in collaboration with Goa Medical College, Blood Bank, Bambolim, and JCI Porvorim.
The camp was held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Around 31 people came forward to donate blood, but only 27 were fit to do so. Most of the people had donated previously, but a couple were first timers.
Mr. Gabriel Pereira, from the MOHAN Foundation, gave FAQs on organ donation to the people who visited the camp. Close to 32 people were handed the FAQs, and three people pledged to donate their organs.
