Organ Donation Awareness on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in Nagpur

  • On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, in a health camp organized by Mr. Amol Hadke, MOHAN Foundation set up a stall to spread awareness about organ donation. Eye and dental checkup were offered in the camp which was organized at Dhambare Layout in Trimruti Nagar, Nagpur on 2nd October.

    Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation managed the stall where information brochures, donor cards, banners and standees were on display. The visitors were given information on the following:

    • What is Organ donation?
    • Who can donate organs?
    • What is the age limit for organ donation?
    • Difference between coma and brain death
    • Who are we donating organs for?
    • Age limit for organ donation
    • Time factor in organ donation
    • Information about Organ Transplant Act 1994
    • Importance of donor card
    • Information about religion and organ donation
    • Role of MOHAN Foundation
    • Using the Helpline number and website of MOHAN Foundation

    Question asked by those who visited the camp included:

    • Does MOHAN Foundation provide organs?
    • Who should my family contact if they want to donate my organs?
    • What is the age limit for organ donation?
    • Who is the head of MOHAN Foundation?

    Around 80 people visited the stall and 5 of them signed consent form and took donor cards. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Mr. Hadke for the opportunity.
