  Organ Donation campaign at Ekatmata Nagar

  MOHAN Foundation set up an organ donation awareness stall in a Shiva Temple in Ekatmata Nagar, Nagpur. Mr. Sachin Lonkar had organized the event on October 6^th 2020. Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation managed the stall which had information brochures, donor cards, banners and standees.

  The visitors were given information on the following:

  • Who can donate organs?
  • What is the age limit for organ donation?
  • Difference between coma and brain death
  • Who are we donating organs for?
  • Age limit for organ donation
  • Time factor in organ donation
  • Information about Organ Transplant Act 1994
  • Importance of donor card
  • Information about religion and organ donation
  • Role of MOHAN Foundation
  • Using the Helpline number and website of MOHAN Foundation

  Question asked by the stall visitors included:

  • Can a living person donate kidneys?
  • How will MOHAN Foundation know about my death?
  • What is the difference between coma and brain death?
  • What is the age limit for organ donation?
  • Who is the head of MOHAN Foundation?

  Around 35 people visited the stall and 8 of them signed consent form and took donor cards. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Mr. Lonkar for the opportunity.
