Organ Donation Awareness in Jaitala Locality of Nagpur

  • On 10th October 2020, a stall was put up by MOHAN Foundation at in the Jaitala locality at Buddha Vihar, Nagpur to spread awareness about organ donation among the residents. Ms. Panchaseela Mankar had invited Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation for this occasion.

    The residents who visited the stall were given information on the following topics:

    • What is Organ donation?
    • Who can donate organs?
    • What is the age limit for organ donation?
    • Difference between coma and brain death
    • Who are we donating organs for?
    • Age limit for organ donation
    • Time factor in organ donation
    • Information about Organ Transplant Act 1994
    • Importance of donor card
    • Information about religion and organ donation
    • Role of MOHAN Foundation
    • Using the Helpline number and website of MOHAN Foundation

    The residents had the below questions for Mr. Behera:

    • What is the importance of the donor card?
    • Eye donation and body donation process
    • What is the difference between coma and brain death?
    • Where is the MOHAN Foundation office?

    Around 38 residents visited the stall and 6 of them signed consent form and took donor cards. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Ms. Mankar for the initiative.
