Organ Donation Awareness for IFB Staff during Kannada Rajyotsava Celebrations

  Mr. Yellappa of IFB who had once attended an awareness session organized by MOHAN Foundation, decided that he would organise one for him team as well and reached out to the Foundation.

  At his request Mrs. Ranjini Shankar, Project Manager of MOHAN Foundation conducted an interactive session and set up an all-day help desk on 30^th November 2021 for the entire staff of IFB company during the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations. Around 780 members attended the session and many others participating in the celebrations visited the help desk.

  Mrs. Ranjini spoke about the following:

  • MOHAN Foundation – activities, mission, vision
  • concepts of organ and tissue donation
  • types of death - cardiac death and brain death
  • brain death declaration
  • procedures of deceased and living organ donation.
  • procedures of eye, skin, and bone donation
  • role of Jeevasarthakathe
  • transplant law
  • importance of a donor card
  • myths and facts, and barriers to organ

  Mr. Yellappa, who was impressed by the work of MOHAN Foundation, expressed his wish to conduct more events in with collaboration with the Foundation.

  Around 600 people signed up as organ donors during the event. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Mr. Yellappa for the opportunity.
