  Krishi Mela an annual event organised by the University of Agricultural Sciences was held from 11^th to 14^th November 2021in the GKVK campus, Bengaluru. Mr. Shridhar Hanchinal of MOHAN Foundation had coordinated for an organ donation awareness stall to be put up at the mela venue on all 4 days.

  Mrs. Ranjini Shankar, Project Manager and Mr. Marulappa L N, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation, managed the stall. Around 1670 members participating in the mela visited the stall and were given information related to the following topics:

  • MOHAN Foundation – activities, mission, vision
  • concepts of organ and tissue donation
  • types of death - cardiac death and brain death
  • brain death declaration
  • procedures of deceased and living organ donation.
  • procedures of eye, skin, and bone donation
  • role of Jeevasarthakathe
  • transplant law
  • importance of a donor card
