Organ Donation Awareness at Williams Lea

  • Williams Lea is the leading global provider of skilled business-critical support services to financial, legal and professional services firms. The aim is to connect people, processes, and technology to manage documents and streamline key back-office functions. As a part of the CSR activity the management organized an awareness on Organ Donation. Around 110 staff attended the session.

    On August 16, 2023, the awareness event was organized and MOHAN Foundation was invited to throw light on the subject. The session began with distribution of pamphlets and green ribbons by Ms Ranjani, intern at MOHAN Foundation. Ms. Archana, (Operations Manager), welcoming the employees and welcoming the speaker.  Mr Ganesh played a video on the importance of gifting life, followed by an explanation on organ donation and transplantation, brain death, myths, scams, pledging as organ donor and effective usage of organ donation helpline number 1800 103 7100.  A film describing brain death was also played for the audience.

    Interactive Q&A session:

    1.       How is the allocation done through NOTTO, ROTTO and SOTTO?

    2.       Is it possible to donate organ in your homeland if they die in foreign?

    3.       How long can a person with fatty liver live without transplant? Can they donate organs?

    4.       If a family member is suffering from organ failure and if someone in the family is brain dead, will they be given preference in getting an organ?

    Around 25 staff picked a donor card.  MOHAN Foundation extends its warm gratitude towards Williams Lea for this wonderful opportunity, and Ms Archana for his hospitality and support in organizing the session.
