On December 26, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in association with the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, conducted an organ donation awareness talk at the General Outpatient Department (OPD). Ms. Moirangthem Priya Devi, Program Executive, and Mr. Victor Rajkumar, Program Executive, represented the Foundation.
The session was coordinated by Ms. Chongtham Pritam Devi, Medical Social Worker (Assisting Transplant Program), RIMS, Imphal.
Ms. Priya initiated the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation and highlighting its role in promoting awareness on deceased organ donation at the community level. She explained the difference between living and deceased organ donation and discussed the limitations associated with deceased donation. She emphasized the donor crisis in the state of Manipur, pointing out the significant gap between the demand and availability of organs due to the low number of deceased donations.
Addressing the participants, she urged them to consider deceased organ donation instead of merely disposing of the body after death, as organ donation has the potential to save multiple lives.
Informational leaflets on organ donation were distributed during the session. Close to 30 participants attended the awareness talk.
