Updated on Monday, August 17, 2020
  • On 12th August 2020, MOHAN Foundation set up a stall to spread awareness about organ donation in the Jeevan Jyoti Blood Bank at Laxmi Nagar in Nagpur. Information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner, were displayed in the stall manned by Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator from the Foundation.

The following information was given to visitors:

    • Types of deaths
    • Organs that can be donated after brain death, after natural death, and while living
    • How to register and where is the waitlist of organ failure patients available
    • Who can donate organs and the value of a donor card
    • MOHAN Foundation’s activities

Around 30 people visited the stall. Five people signed up as organ donors and a few others collected consent forms to discuss with their families before making a decision.

    Questions asked by visitors:

    1) How will MOHAN Foundation know about my death?

    2) If someone dies at home, will organ donation be possible?

    3) Can a living person donate bone marrow?
