  An online awareness session on organ donation was organized for the students of Dr. Ambedkar College in Sakkardara, Nagpur on 13^th August 2020. Dr. Sushil Meshram, Professor of Marathi from the college was present and Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation, addressed the audience as part of the organ donation week celebrations

  Information was given on the following topics:

  • Types of deaths
  • Organs that can be donated after brain death, after natural death and while living
  • How to register and where is the waitlist of organ failure patients available
  • Who can donate organs
  • MOHAN Foundation’s activities
  • Information regarding Transplantation Act 1994
  • Importance of donor card

   

  Around 60 participants were present in the session which was highly interactive and was motivated to support the cause. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Professor Meshrom for the opportunity.
