  • On April 23, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an impactful Organ Donation Awareness Session for the Nashik Batch at the Traffic Training Centre, Byculla, Mumbai. The session was attended by 70 police officers, who showed enthusiastic participation and a deep interest in understanding the significance of organ donation.

The session was led by Ms. Sakshi, who provided a comprehensive overview of organ and tissue donation, including the process of pledging, the difference between brain stem death and cardiac death, and the role of the police force in supporting organ donation in society.

Participants raised several thoughtful and relevant questions, including:

    • How is a brain stem death declared, and who is authorized to do it?
    • Can family members override the decision of someone who has already pledged their organs?

Ms. Sakshi addressed all queries with clarity, using real-life examples and simplified explanations to ensure better understanding. The officers appreciated the interactive nature of the session and acknowledged the importance of spreading awareness in their own communities.

The session concluded with gratitude and positive feedback, with many officers expressing their intention to consider pledging their organs and supporting the cause further.
