On January 29, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation awareness session at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Kshetrigao, Imphal East, Manipur. The programme was facilitated by Ms. Moirangthem Priya Devi, Program Executive, along with Mr. Elangbam Paringanba Singh, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Imphal.
The session was organised as part of the UPHC’s immunization initiative and was coordinated with Mrs. Premlata, Nurse In-Charge, who played an active role in facilitating the programme.
Ms. Priya introduced the team and provided an overview of organ donation, explaining the vital organs eligible for donation and clarifying the distinction between living and deceased donors. She emphasized the importance of deceased organ donation in contributing to societal welfare and addressed ethical considerations, including the prohibition of the buying and selling of organs.
She further guided participants on the procedure for registering as organ donors and highlighted the importance of involving family members in the decision-making process. Information regarding the toll-free helpline and other available resources was also shared for further support and clarification.
Informational pamphlets on organ donation were distributed to reinforce key messages and address participant queries. Approximately 20 participants attended the session and gained valuable insights into the significance and impact of organ donation.
