  • On April 12, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an engaging and informative Organ Donation Awareness Session at St. Louis Church, Dahisar, Mumbai. The session was led by Ms. Jaya, who sensitively and thoroughly explained the concepts and importance of organ donation to the gathered audience.

Around 80 people participated in the session, which was designed in an interactive Q&A format, allowing attendees to voice their doubts, share thoughts, and gain clarity on a wide range of topics. The atmosphere was warm and participatory, with individuals showing a genuine interest in learning and understanding the various aspects of organ donation.

Ms. Jaya began the session by explaining the basics of organ donation, the difference between cardiac death and brain stem death, and how these relate to eligibility for organ donation. She addressed some of the most frequently asked and critical questions, such as:

    1. What are the procedures for living organ donation?
    2. Where can a person register for an organ if they are suffering from organ failure?

The session sparked meaningful discussions, helping to demystify common misconceptions and fears. Participants were eager to learn more, and several shared personal experiences or concerns that led to further insightful discussions.

A particularly heartening outcome of the session was that 3 individuals came forward to pledge their organs, showing their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Following the session, Ms. Sakshi set up an awareness stall, interacted with attendees, addressed their doubts, and guided them through the pledge process. Her engaging conversations helped inspire and facilitate these meaningful pledges.
