Organ Donation Awareness Session Conducted at OTG Department of GMCH, Nagpur

  • On 15th December 2021, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at OTG Department of GMCH, Nagpur. The session was organized by Dr. Aashish, Associate Professor and was conducted by Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi, Transplant Coordinator for sensitization of OTG critical care staff and relatives of patients.

    Topics discussed in this session were as follows:

    1. Introduction about MOHAN Foundation and its abbreviation.
    2. Concept of Organ donation and its type.
    3. Organs donated by living donor to save the life of a family member.
    4. Types of Death

    a. Brain Death

    b. Circulatory Death

          5.  Difference between Brain Death and Coma.

          6.  Living donor and Deceased Donor.

          7.  Myths and Facts about organ donation.

          8.  Donor card and its importance.

    Dr. Deepak and Dr. Smruthi Gedam, doctors of OTG department actively participated in the session. Sixty-six members attended the session. Filers were distributed to them. They thanked Ms. Prarthana for conducting an informative and inspirational session which motivated the participants to take pledge to donate organs and save others life.
