Awareness Session on Organ Donation and COVID Related Precautions Conducted for Podar School Group, Nagpur

  • On 12th December 2021, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted awareness session on COVID related precautions and Organ Donation for NCC students of Janta High School, Wani, Nagpur.

    Mrs. Dixit organised this session for Teachers group of Podar School and for people residing in Rajiv Nagar.

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi began the session by explaining the precautions which are necessary to protect us from COVID pandemic.

    According to The World Health Organization (WHO) "most effective" protective measures are as follows:

    1. Washing your hands regularly.
    2. Covering your mouth while you cough and maintain social distancing.
    3. Wear your mask properly when you step outside the house.

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi introduced MOHAN Foundation and its activities to the group.

    Topics discussed in this session were as follows:

    1. Organ donation and its types.
    2. Difference with Living donors and Deceased donors.
    3. Types of death.
    4. Which organs can be donated after death?
    5. Myths and misconception about Organ donation.
    6. Comparison about organ donation in India and Spain.
    7. MOHAN Foundation Helpline number was shared with the participants.

     Questions asked in the session were as follows:

    1. Can a person donate his body after eye donation?
    2. Can Dialysis patients donate their organs?

    There were 63 participants who attended the session. The participants thanked Ms. Prarthana and appreciated her session. MOHAN Foundation would like to thank Mrs. Dixit for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
