Organ Donation Awareness Program at Ecumenical Sangam, Nagpur

  On 7^th March 2014 Ms. Kanchan Shewde,  transplant coordinator of MOHAN Foundation Nagpur canter, was invited by Ms. Suchi a MSW student of Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of Social Work , Nagpur  to  talk on deceased organ donation. The aim was to sensitize the members of Ecumenical Sangam  at Ramnagar Hilltop, Nagpur.

   

  Miss. Kanchan Shewde gave a talk on organ donation. She covered the  following topics:

  1. Organs and tissues that are donated after Brain death, Natural death & while living
  2. Brain death, natural death and coma
  3. Importance of a consent  from  the relatives of brain death patient
  4. Cornea donation
  5. Donor card, helpline number
  6. MOHAN Foundation activities

   

  All the twelve participants took pledge form.  After the talk some questions:

  1. What are the processes of Eye donation?

  2.Where is MOHAN Foundation Office?

  3. If anyone wants to donate organs then  will their family will be get more priority or not?

  4. What is the process for kidney transplant?
