Organ Donation Awareness Program a Resounding Success at National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), Ramanthapur

  • An impactful organ donation awareness program was successfully conducted at the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), Ramanthapur, on June 24, 2025. The session, led by Project Manager Mr. Venkatesh Kattela, involved an interactive PowerPoint presentation held in the evening hours to minimize disruption to regular classes.

    The event was graced by the presence of Principal N.V. Banni Bagi and Assistant Director Pramod Chandel. Principal Bagi addressed the attendees, highlighting the noble cause of organ donation and commending Mohan Foundation's dedicated efforts in promoting awareness. He generously extended an offer to allow future awareness talks for upcoming batches, recognizing the importance of continuous education on this vital subject.

    The interactive talk comprehensively covered essential aspects of organ donation, including:

    • What organ donation is
    • Different types of organ donation
    • The critical distinction between brain death and cardiac arrest
    • The significance of the donor card
    • The consent process involved in organ donation
    • Common myths and misconceptions
    • The urgent need for organ donation in society

    A powerful moment during the session was when faculty member Anoop Mishra displayed his organ donor card, which resonated deeply with the students. The program saw an impressive turnout of over 300 attendees in two sessions, including faculty members, with many enthusiastically pledging to donate their organs. Participants were also encouraged to watch the film "Aye Zindagi" to further understand the profound importance of organ donation. This event marks a significant step in fostering a culture of organ donation among the youth and future skilled workforce.
