Online Organ Donation Awareness for members of Aam Aadmi Party

  An online awareness session on organ donation was conducted for the members of Nagpur’s Aam Aadmi Party Southwest wing on 14^th September 2020 by MOHAN Foundation. Mr. Ajay Dharme, Convener of the southwest of the party had organized the session and Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator from the Foundation was the speaker.

  Information related to the following was given to party members

  • Types of death
  • Organs that could be donated after brain death, natural death and while living
  • How and where organ failure patients register in waitlist
  • Who can donate organs and value of donor card
  • MOHAN Foundation’s activities
  • Using Helpline number and the MOHAN Foundation website
  • Process of kidney transplant
  • Process of eye donation

  13 members attended the session and 10 of were willing to register as organ donors on the Foundation’s website.

  • What are the legal aspects of organ donation?
  • How will MOHAN Foundation get to know of someone’s death?
  • Who is the head of MOHAN Foundation?
