Organ Donation Awareness organized by Aam Aadmi Party in Nagpur

  • On 13th September 2020, the Aam Aadmi Party wing in Nagpur had organized a COVID19 screening camp for the residents of Ekatmata Nagar ward and MOHAN Foundation was invited to talk about organ donation, addressing the residents who visited the camp. Mr. Sachin Lonkar, a party member organized the camp and extended an invitation to Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of the Foundation.

    Information related to the following topics was given to patients and relatives:

    • Types of death
    • Organs that could be donated after brain death, natural death and while living
    • How and where organ failure patients register in waitlist
    • Who can donate organs and value of donor card
    • MOHAN Foundation’s activities
    • Using Helpline number and the MOHAN Foundation website
    • Process of kidney transplant
    • Process of eye donation

    Around 40 residents who got screened were reached out to. After understanding about organ donation, 15 visitors took consent forms and 8 of them signed consent forms and collected donor cards, other will sign consent form after discussing with their family.

    • Whom to contact for organ donation?
    • After death what is the time duration for organ donation?
    • Who is the head of MOHAN Foundation?
