On 26th November 2013, Madras Christian College Field Work Students organised a competition on Organ Donation at Jain Vidyalaya Matriculation School, Tambaram. The MCC students requested the MOHAN Foundation to educate the Jain Vidyalaya students. Mr. Jeyabal M. and Ms. Sunitha A, Transplant coordinators, MOHAN Foundation, Chennai gave a PowerPoint presentation on Organ donation.
Ms. Sunitha A, Transplant coordinator explained about organ donation. In her session she covered following topics: Importance of Organ donation, difference between the brain death and coma, Eye donation, what organs can be donated.
Before the awareness session, the students from 9th and 10th standard participated in a drawing and essay writing competition on organ donation. The winners of Drawing and Essay writing competition received the prizes from Principal and Transplant coordinators.
Finally, on behalf of MOHAN Foundation the principal Mrs. Meera Keerthi Vasan was felicitated and Vote of thanks given by Madras Christian College student.
