On June 25, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at Kshetrigao Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Imphal East, Manipur. The session was led by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Project Coordinator (Northeast) cum Project Lead (Manipur), Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Program Executive (Senior), and Mrs. Thaudem Mayarani Devi, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation.
The event was organised as part of ongoing activities for Urban Health, Sanitation, and Nutrition Day (UHSND) under the National Health Mission (NHM), in coordination with Mrs. W. Premlata, Nurse In-Charge, Kshetrigao UPHC.
Mr. Bidyananda Laishram opened the session with the topic “What is Organ Donation?” and provided detailed information on deceased organ donation, addressing the Islamic perspective and dispelling common myths. The session was interactive, with active participation from the local community and a question-and-answer segment.
Ms. Laishram Monica Devi then addressed participants’ queries, focusing on the timing of organ retrieval and transplantation, and concluded the session.
The session reached around 40 participants. Informational FAQs on organ donation were distributed, and the session proved to be engaging and impactful for the community.
