  • On July 3, 2025, An awareness session on organ and eye donation was held at Sevalaya's Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Old Age Home in Tiruvallur.  About 100 senior residents and staff participated.

The session led by Ms. Sangeetha, who highlighted the life changing impact of eye donation - explained how donated corneas can help to restore sight to those suffering from corneal blindness, dispelled myths surrounding eye donation, discussed precautions necessary for healthy donation.

Mr. David, an intern from Nazareth College spoke about organ donation, explained about the processes of pledging, organ allo cation, and the concept of brain death versus coma and Ms. Keertthana, another intern, assisted with distributing informative brochures on both organ and eye donation.

The session was well received, especially when a grandmother shared her late husband’s story and expressed regret that she hadn’t known about organ donation sooner—believing she might have saved lives through his organs.

MOHAN Foundation thanks Mr. Aakaash, and Ms. Anu, of Sevalaya for coordinating the session.
