On 29 November, 2013 an awareness session on Organ Donation and Transplantation was organized at Police Officers Puducherry North. The session was conducted by Mr. Ananth R. Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation & Pondicherry Institute of Medical Science (PIMS) Hospital, Puducherry. Shri. Praveen Kumar Tripathi PPS, Superintendent of Police, Puducherry North and Mr. Hemachadran, Inspector Of Police, Puducherry organized the awareness talk.
During his talk, Mr Ananth spoke about Natural death, Brain death; difference between natural death and brain death; difference between brain stem death and coma; organs that can be donated, importance of the donor card, Role of Transplant Coordinator, Role of Police during deceased organ donation and MOHAN Foundation Activities.
There were a total of 134 police officers and 12 Inspectors and 1 Superintendent of Police who participated in the session.
