On April 7, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation team in Vadodara conducted an awareness session for ICU residents and coordinators at SSG Hospital. The session aimed to enhance understanding of organ donation, emphasizing the vital role of medical staff in identifying and certifying potential organ donors.
With the support and permission of the ICU Assistant Professors, the session was held in the Surgical ICU. The initiative focused on educating the staff about brain stem death and the significance of organ donation, especially in cases involving patients with severe brain trauma. The session also highlighted the collaboration between SOTTO and NTORC hospitals in strengthening the organ donation framework.
The interactive discussion addressed several common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation, offering factual and evidence-based clarifications. The activity served as a meaningful step towards fostering greater awareness and preparedness among medical professionals in the ICU setting. Total 30 staff members attended the session.
