MOHAN Foundation conducted Organ Donation awareness talk for Firefighters of Kharghar Fire station

  • On 30th January 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation for Firefighters of Kharghar Fire Station. MrArun Gade of Fire station promoted  and coordinated the session. Ms Prarthana Dwivedi introduced MOHAN Foundation to the participants.She explained living donation and deceased donation and the organs thatcan be donated after death.
    In this session she explained the following points:


     MOHAN Foundation’s mission vision

     Difference between circulatory death and brain death

     Organ donation types and who can be a donor

     How many lives can be saved and healed through Organ Donation

     The status of Organ Donation in India and their requirements vs.donation rates

     She debunked various myths with facts about Organ Donation

     Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.

     Importance of the Donor Card.

    In the Q and A segment, some of the Firefighters asked about Brain Death and how it will happen and some also asked about the difference between organ donation and  body donation. Ms Prarthana answered all the queries promptly.


    It was an interactive session. The entire group got motivated and wasconvinced to support organ donation and they would love to share theirwish with their families and also respect the body after death. About 14 participants of Fire station participated in the session.
