MOHAN Foundation Invited to conduct an Interactive Session on Organ Donation and Transplantation

  • On the occasion of International Worker’s day, 1st May 2022. Dr Umesh Hallikeri and Mr. Kumaresh Fire and Safety Department Officer invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an interactive session organ donation at Hubbli Airport and Fire Department. Ms. Sheetal Mundada-Transplant Coordinator-Karnataka was the key resource.

    Ms. Mundada addressed the audience and began the session by giving a brief on organ donation and elucidating the need and importance of the same. She also gave an insight on Skin Donation and kept the audience engaged throughout the session.

    The following topics were discussed in detail: 

    • Introduction to MOHAN Foundation
    • Importance and eligibility of an Organ donor
    •  Jeevasarthakathe and its role
    • Skin donation and its importance 
    • Importance of a Donor Card

    Ms. Mundada interacted with the audience and encouraged them to ask questions. During the interaction, the audience raised the following questions:

    • How to register for organ donor card.
    • From which part is Skin taken.
    • Is any disfigurement of body after donation?

    100 people attended the session and agreed to be organ donor ambassadors
