There are multiple ways to create awareness among the public, a group discussion is one of the efficient ones.
On May 7, 2022, a group discussion was organized for the community members of Kunichampet Village, Pondicherry. The audience were 12 rural farmers and the farming labourers who barely knew about transplantation, and many were amazed at the availability of second chance. They thought kidney was the only organ that can be transplanted, and explaining them about the brain death and the organs that could be donated on brain death was challenging. After the brief session they had many had quite a handful of doubts which were cleared then and there. All participants were given organ donation information brochure, and explained the use of the Toll-Free Helpline 1800 103 7100.
MOHAN Foundation thanks the community for their time to learn about a social cause.
