MOHAN Foundation was invited by Volunteers of Happy Healthy Organization to conduct an awareness session on organ donation at their office on 13th April 2015 at Vijayawada.
Happy Healthy Organization is a not-for-profit organization recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh that is working on promoting healthy life style among the youth.
Ms. Shanti explained the purpose, necessity, importance, complex issues in deceased organ donation, concept of brain death, cultural and religious barriers, THO Act and myths related to organ donation.
There were about 50 volunteers that participated and 20 members pledged to donate organs and were distributed donor cards and information brochures. The volunteers positively reacted to the idea and have promised to spread awareness about organ donation in the future in the communities that they are engaged.
We thank all the volunteers of Happy Healthy Organization for their support in organizing this event and in promoting the noble cause of organ donation.
