  • On March 25, 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized a sensitization program for police personnel and cadets at Radhakishorepur Police Training Centre, West Tripura, to enhance awareness of organ donation and transplantation and to highlight the important role of the police in the process.

MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead, Tripura.

Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, an Organ Donation Ambassador from Tripura who received training under the Angels of Change program organized by MOHAN Foundation in December 2025, supported the coordination and organization of the event.

The program began with a welcome address and brief introduction by Mr. Dilip Debbarma, Commandant, Tripura Police Service (TPS).

Mr. Vincent shared information about MOHAN Foundation and explained organ donation, including the types of organ donation, who can become an organ donor, brain death, coma, cornea donation, and statistics on organ requirements in India. He highlighted the life-saving impact a single donor can have by helping multiple patients. The discussion focused on addressing common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation and encouraged participants to actively support and promote awareness of this noble cause.

Mr. Debbarma highlighted the crucial role played by the police—particularly in medico-legal cases where timely coordination and support are essential. He also discussed the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 1994, and encouraged participants to read and understand its provisions to gain clarity on the legal framework established by the Government of India.

Mr. Dilip Debbarma appreciated MOHAN Foundation's initiative, calling it a noble cause and pledged that the police would help spread the message of organ donation in every possible way. He encouraged the cadets and police personnel to share this message with their family members and neighbours. He also stated that they would discuss the topic further and contact MOHAN Foundation when there are individuals willing to pledge their organs.

The program was attended by 450 cadets and police personnel.
