MOHAN Foundation Conducts Organ and Body Donation Pledge Drive in Collaboration with Department of Social Justice & BARTI

  • On June 13, 2025 – MOHAN Foundation successfully conducted an Organ and Body Donation Pledge Drive in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, Maharashtra State Castribe Karmachari Kalyan Mahasangh, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI). The event took place at Samajik Nyay Bhavan Hall, Nagpur.

    The program was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Sidharth Gaikwad, Regional Deputy Commissioner, Social Welfare Department, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, he commended the initiative and emphasized the need for greater awareness around organ and body donation in society.

    Dr. Sameer Jahagirdar, a renowned plastic surgeon, sensitized the audience about the critical importance of skin donation, particularly in the treatment of burn victims and for reconstructive surgery. Dr. Chandrakant Meher and Dr. Sushil Meshram delivered insightful presentations on whole body donation, underlining its vital role in advancing medical education and scientific research.

    The MOHAN Foundation team, supported by intern Pratham Dalvi, facilitated the pledge drive and distributed informative materials. Participants were guided through the process of making an online pledge to donate organs and/or their bodies, contributing to a culture of altruism and medical progress.

    The event saw the participation of approximately 130 individuals, reflecting strong community engagement. By the conclusion of the session, eight attendees pledged to donate their organs—a meaningful contribution toward saving lives and supporting medical advancement.
