On April 9, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur conducted a “Gift of Life” Organ Donation Awareness Session for NSS students at KDK College. The objective of the session was to create awareness among students about organ donation and motivate them to become responsible ambassadors of this life-saving cause.
On behalf of MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Veena Wathore and Ms. Neha Sailwar facilitated the session. Ms. Veena Wathore began the session on a positive note by sharing successful real-life stories of organ donation, helping students understand its emotional and life-saving impact.
She further explained key concepts such as what is organ donation, the difference between brain stem death and cardiac (circulatory) death, and the provisions of the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act (THOTA) along with its amendments. She also elaborated on the role of transplant coordinators and explained the concept of a green corridor in organ transportation.
Following this, Ms. Neha Sailwar continued the session by addressing common myths and facts related to organ donation. She guided students on the process of taking an organ donation pledge, and also shared information about various courses and internship opportunities available in the field of organ donation through MOHAN Foundation. Additionally, she provided an overview of the history and pan-India work of MOHAN Foundation.
The session concluded with an interactive Question & Answer segment, where students actively participated and raised important queries such as:
All queries were addressed in a clear and informative manner, helping to dispel myths and strengthen students’ understanding. Around 70 students attended the session.
