On April 6, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur conducted a “Gift of Life” Organ and Body Donation Awareness Session at Vrinda Vasant Sahanivas, Waddhamna , in collaboration with Viveka Hospital. The objective of the activity was to create awareness about organ and body donation and encourage individuals to take informed decisions regarding donation.
As part of the initiative, Viveka Hospital organized a body check-up camp, while MOHAN Foundation set up an organ and body donation information desk. On behalf of MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Neha Sailwar managed the information desk, guided visitors in understanding organ and body donation, assisted them in filling pledge forms, maintained visitor records for reporting purposes, and distributed brochures to participants.
The awareness session was facilitated by Ms. Veena Wathore, who provided detailed information on organ and body donation. She explained key aspects such as the concept and benefits of organ donation, the process of organ donation, and the meaning of brain stem death, along with the difference between brain death and cardiac (circulatory) death. She also elaborated on the process of body donation and cornea donation, legal aspects of organ donation, and the role of a transplant coordinator in the donation process.
The session was followed by an interactive Question & Answer segment, where participants actively engaged and raised important queries such as:
All queries were addressed in a clear and informative manner, helping participants gain a better understanding of the subject.
