Engineering firm invites MOHAN Foundation for an Awareness session on Organ Donation

  On 6^th June 2014, OTV Engineering Centre Private Limited, T. Nagar conducted an awareness programme on Deceased Organ Donation. The programme was initiated by Ms. Maheswari, Trainee MOHAN Foundation.  

   

  Mr. Jeyabal M, Transplant Coordinator gave a presentation on the Concepts of Organ Donation. His talk covered the following points: 

   

  • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
  • Difference between Brain death and Coma
  • Importance of the consent from the family and of Donor card 
  • Tissues and organs  that can be donated
  • Transplant Coordinators Training Programme
  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme

   

   

  Totally 60 employees participated the session and 40 of them picked the donor card and supported the cause. At the end of the session the participants asked several queries such as

  1. How to register for organ transplantation?
  2. List of  Registered  hospitals
  3. Time duration of Live transplantation
