Computer Science Corporation Pvt. Ltd. celebrates Organ Donation Day with MOHAN Foundation

• To commemorate the World Organ Donation Day, Computer Science Corporation Pvt. Ltd, MEPZS Tambaram, organized an awareness session on Organ Donation for their employees on 06^th August 2014. Ms. Sridevi, Asst Manager of Paramount Health Services Pvt. Ltd part of CSR Activity invited MOHAN Foundation to deliver the talk. Ms. Kavitha, Marketing Coordinator and Ms. Gieetha, Intern of MOHAN Foundation represented MOHAN Foundation.

   

  The Programme started at 4:10 pm in the Conference hall with a welcome address given by Ms. Sridevi.  Following that Ms. Kavitha, delivered a talk on Organ Donation.  In her talk she explained the following:

   

  • Importance and need of organ donation
    • Types of donations – live and deceased donation
    • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
    • Organs and tissues  that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death
    • Eye donation
    • Preservation time of organs
    • Importance of Donor card, helpline number and website
    • TNOS website and Transplant Registry

   

  It was a very interactive session. The participants raised queries about organ sharing and allocation, contraindications in donating organs and tissues, whom to be contacted in case of emergency, how authentic is this organ sharing, why we have to register with your organization since you’re a nongovernmental organization. At the end of the session Priceless Gift brochures were distributed and 80 employees supported this noble cause by picking up the donor cards.
