On June 22, 2025 occasion of her 53rd birthday, Dr. Chhaya Janbandhu—a distinguished international veteran athlete, 2017 Bravery Awardee by the Delhi Railway Board, IAWA Mrs. India 2022 Runner-up, and Popular Queens of Universe 2023—was conferred with two prestigious honorary doctorates: one in Physical Fitness and Wellness Science by an American University, and another in Yoga by the Global Human Rights Trust.
Continuing her tradition of meaningful celebration, Dr. Janbandhu marked her birthday by organizing a comprehensive Blood, Body, and Organ Donation pledge drive. The event was jointly hosted by MOHAN Foundation and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Association of Engineers (Banai) at Vrindavan City, Jamtha, Nagpur.
The camp witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of local residents, many of whom stepped forward to donate blood—demonstrating a strong sense of community spirit and solidarity with the noble cause. Notable among the blood donors were Shri Ashish Madhukar Hadke and Shri Dinesh Sukhdeve from Indu Memorial High School, Nagpur, who led by example.
The event also served as a powerful platform to advocate for the importance of body and organ donation. Inspirational messages were delivered by Mr. Arvind Gedam, Mr. Pradeep Naranware, and Dr. Sushil Meshram, who emphasized the life-saving and transformative impact of such donations.
A deeply moving highlight of the event was the personal pledge by Dr. Chhaya Janbandhu, who signed a letter of intent to donate her organs in the event of brain death and her entire body after death. Her action embodied a profound commitment to humanitarian values and selfless service to society.
The success of this impactful initiative was made possible through the tireless efforts of Ms. Veena Wathore of MOHAN Foundation, along with Ms. Jyotsna Chavan from Banai. Their dedication ensured seamless coordination, donor engagement, and effective awareness generation. Total 135 people attended the drive & 18 people pledged to donate organs.
