  • On June 23, 2025, Ms. Bhagyashree Nighot, Transplant Coordinator and Grief Counsellor from MOHAN Foundation, conducted an awareness session on organ, body, and tissue donation at the Deolapar Police Station. The session was attended by the Assistant Police Inspector (API) along with nine other police personnel.

Ms. Bhagyashree commenced the session by introducing the work and mission of MOHAN Foundation, highlighting its role in promoting deceased organ donation and supporting families during the donation process. She then explained in detail the concepts of organ donation, body donation, and tissue donation, with an emphasis on their importance in saving and improving lives.

During the session, Ms Bhagyashree provided comprehensive information about the importance of organ donation, body donation for medical education, and tissue donation such as cornea and skin. She emphasized the need for public awareness and community participation to bridge the gap between the number of patients waiting for transplants and the availability of donor organs.

All the attendees actively participated in the discussion and took the pledge to support and promote organ donation. Several queries were raised by the police staff, including:

    • Who can donate organs?
    • Is there any age limit for donation?
    • Which organs and tissues can be donated?
    • What is the appropriate time frame for organ transplantation?
    • In which states or hospitals can organ donation and transplantation take place?

Ms. Bhagyashree addressed all their questions with clarity and encouraged them to spread the message within their communities. The session concluded on a positive and enthusiastic note, with all attendees expressing their willingness to support the cause. Total 10 participants were present for the session.
