

An Eye Donation Awareness Program was held on May 16, 2025, at Akshaya Trust Senior Citizen Home, Kattupakkam, with the aim of educating the residents and staff about the importance of eye donation.
The session was conducted by Ms. Sangeetha K, Project Executive from MOHAN Foundation, who delivered an informative talk on the causes of corneal blindness, the life changing impact of eye donation, and addressed common myths and concerns surrounding the topic. Mr. Kowshikeyan and Ms. Vaishnavi, Interns, distributed informative brochures about eye donation to the residents to enhance their understanding and provide clarification.
The program saw the participation of nearly 65 people, including residents and staff of the old age home. Of these, 46 attendees picked up donor cards and the audience responded with great interest and appreciation. The event concluded with a brief Q&A session, during which many participants shared their thoughts and had their doubts clarified.
